Tasting Notes:
Guatemalan coffees tend to be a favorite to many people. In general, these coffees are chocolate-forward and clean, leaving you wanting another cup. This one is no different! What sets this one apart is the amazing brown sugar notes that hit you right before the chocolate notes. A touch of sweetness along with these notes make for a great, clean cup of coffee.
About the Coffee:
Huehuetenango’s renowned green coffee beans owe much to the dry, hot winds that come in from the mountains of Mexico's Tehuantepec plain. Huehuetenango is the highest and driest of Guatemala's non-volcanic regions. The additional heat layers protect Huehuetenango from frost and enable coffee to grow at altitudes of 2,000 masl.
Most coffee growers in Huehuetenango process their own coffee. Fortunately, the region has rivers and streams in abundance, so mills can be placed almost anywhere.
This certified organic green coffee was grown, picked, processed and packed in accordance with USDA Organic standards.
